The Ziplevel Pro Laserless, precision altimeter is the best kept secret when it comes down to surveying a garden. If you have ever needed to take accurate levels (2mm), including around corners and behind small spaces or plants, this level is for you. Not to mention its speed and single person operation. As used and recommended by some highly regarded members of the SGD. Described by a highly respected chartered land surveyor as "almost a perfect levelling device".

Formerly known as the Stanley Compulevel, this level is now available in the UK with updated electronics allowing even quicker and accurate measurements to be taken. It is far easier and quicker than using a laser level and can be used in almost all weather conditions - usable in all light levels including full sun, only highly fluctuating barometric conditions or extremely strong winds may require the unit to be re-calibrated during use and I am sure you would not like to be surveying in those conditions.

Calibrating the unit at the datum for 0.000m takes seconds. Further measurements are taken as absolute measurements from 0.000 datum and take only a few seconds for the units to settle and the offset from datum in meters, cm or inches to be displayed on the large LCD display. And there is no need to subtract staff readings, everything is absolute from the datum. A special hold function allows the last reading to be retained if the display cannot be directly viewed, such as below ground or above head height.

The large LCD display is connected to a stationary base station by a highly flexible 25m chord. This allows readings to be taken without further re-calibration up to 25m horizontally (50m diameter) and 6m above and below (12m total vertical range) the base station. If larger distances are required, a special carry function allows the base station to be moved to a different location extending the workable range indefinitely. The 25m horizontal/12m vertical range is adequate for most gardens but for larger gardens, the unit is not a substitute for a professional TotalStation.

Price on application.

If units purchased from me, I can also supply a free Vectorworks 2008/09 plugin to allow stake objects to be re-aligned on a non zero datum.

I also offer a level measuring service at £50 first hour, £30/hr thereafter + CC or parking expenses and mileage over and above the first 20 miles at 50p/mile based on single leg of trip as per AA website from GU15. An average urban garden can have its levels measured in an hour with this unit. So instead of having to hire a dumpy/laser level, I can come in an take your levels for you whilst you are busy discussing requirements with your client!

Based Camberley (GU15).
