PureGardenDesign has replied to discussion topic Raising the profile of Good Design in the group Design Led Gardens:
Surely the bigger question here is "What is good design?". Is it just about drawing a pretty plan and having some nice photos? Absolutely not. Aesthetics play their part but good design must also work for the client's life...

PureGardenDesign posted a comment on the group CAD & Garden Design tutors:
Hi Josh - Vectorworks is a comprehensive CAD package that seems to find favour among garden designers, but whether or not it's the 'best way forward' for you depends on what you want to use it for - if you could give a bit mo...

Hi Paul LightUp is probably similar to Podium (which I'd not heard of) - it's a plug in that allows you to add better lighting to SketchUp models, using ambient lighting, point sources, area emitters etc. You'll find ...

Thanks John - I use a combination of Vectorworks, SketchUp and ye olde drawing board for my design work. I usually start out on the drawing board as it's still the quickest and easiest way to rattle through some concepts, then once I&...

The image that you refer to has been rendered using SU Podium. It's a fairly simple
plug-in that operates within the 'architecture' of Sketch UP.I use a demo version so I don't get max resolution but seems to do the job. Never heard of LIGHT UP what
is it?
Have you had a chance to look at my VUE experiments, that program really allows
for lighting control. Hope busines is good.
