Thanks John for the comment, I'm trying not to remember that job, as it was a nightmare in the organising. However it is about the only one that I have enjoyed on completion as in the past, the more natural features never look truly na...
Morning Adam. Just viewing some work and really enjoyed looking at your bespoke water feature and the October 08 series. Outstanding attention to detail.
Hi Adam, sorry not to have got back to you sooner, been up to my neck in work! Ok what can I tell you? I sourced all of the materials from a company called Evergreen Roof Gardens, sales@evergreenroofgardens.co.uk, the type you would be installing is known as an intensive roof, this is for small domestic roofs/sheds. This company can supply all of the cavity drainage matting for pitched roofs and the membrane to stop ingress from plant roots, they can also supply the lightweight soil. I built a surround made from 150mm gravel boards, then fitted all of the matting. Before putting in the soil I braced the frame using perforated galvanised steel straps, you can buy them from any builders merchants, they use them for holding roofs on houses!! this will stop your roof from bowing in the centre, make sure the pitch is not to steep! Then you can cover the braces with the soil to hide them. Also you will find that there will be a lot of water run off, so you will need to fix a gutter to the lower edge of the shed roof. This is not shown on the picture of the one I built,as it was something that I learnt from having the flag stones stained from water dripping on to them!! Hope this helps you out. Andy
