The snow has finally melted and I can see the green around me again, thank goodness!  This weekend tied up with an open day to launch Calne in Bloom and Britain in Bloom, exciting as what I love most about gardens is helping people enjoy theirs.

There are a lot of keen amateurs out there who can get involved and even though it will not mean any business for me, Im just happy to see people enjoying getting creative.

I helped judge the Calne in Bloom last year and there are some super gardens, pots, allotments and community gardens around Calne and this year we are hoping to make a bigger impact and go into the Britian in Bloom competition.

So, if your local - Get involved

I want to start to use CAD and Vectorworks seems to be the programme of choice, however I have been quoted over £2000 for the product and training, - the training seems to be very important, no point in paying for a programme I cant use?  Can anyone advise on the best value for money given that I do have the £2000 to spend, but dotn necessarily want to spend it all, - I  have played around with Google sketch up and Garden Pro, but want to be able to make up schedules, full constings and change the drawings and costs quickly so dont feel Google and Garden Pro is going to work for me - HELP? anyone?

It can sometimes be lonely working as a sole trader, we could all benefit from the continued support of other Garden Designers for on going development, problem solving, information pooling and sourcing ideas, - is there anybody out there that would be interested in starting a group or is there such a group I could join within 1 hour of SN11 , Wiltshire   Contact alison@GardensByDesignWest.com
