Hampton court Day 3
6:42 PM on 28 June 2008

Day Three -

We have managed to over come the challenge of re-engineering part of the main construction components of the garden, hard work but most rewarding.

There is a great feeling of commerardary amongt the other construction teams, so far we have borrowed  a diggers , fork lift wheel barrows etc.

The standard of workmanship is high as one would expect and we can all look forward to a wonderful show.

We are working 10-12 hr days thre old joints are waring not so well but sleeping like a baby.

More later in the week.

Alex

Hi Alex
Am envious, but glad that I am not doing Hampton, if that makes sense? 2004 got a silver medal for a self funded garden. It was REALLY expensive and have only now started to re coop the cost.

The thing I am really, really envious of is the commerardary of which you wrote about. It is a tangable thing, everyone is there, under stress but enjoying the gig. All sweet and happy. BUT WAIT,,, be prepared, it gets competitive soon. I built my garden next to a lady who had been doing RHS shows for years. She was very generous with her knowledge, tools and advice. Do you realise that the judges are watching you all the time? No loud radios, no swearing and keep everything neat and tidy - all goes towards the marks.
Good luck, wish I was there!
