How can I use this website to find garden designers, landscapers or gardeners?
Below we've got some useful advice for homeowners, selecting a business to approach for their garden project...

The Garden Network is NOT another static directory - it's a live and active environment for the whole garden industry.
Customers told us they find it increasingly difficult to judge businesses online, as good presentation can often be the product of a good website design company. So our 'level playing field' gives all companies on The Garden Network the same tools, letting Homeowners make informed decisions and direct comparisons based on their portfolio and blogs - so you find the right contractor for your project.

Click 'Search' on the top left to find businesses using their Profile information. Select criteria from the pulldowns and click 'Update Results' to see the updated member list below. For example, select 'Garden Designer' (Member Type) and 'South East' (UK region) to see members matching that criteria.

|
Their Profile - Is it complete? Does it tell you what you need to know?
Their Portfolio & Blog - Do they have one? Is their work your sort of style or standard? Do you like the way they operate? (You can learn from their Blog)
Trade Associations - Do they belong to any? (Non-membership does not mean they are incapable, but membership can give you benefits)
|
 |
 |
Make Friends - You could Make Friends with them, to make communication between each other even easier.
Send a Message - click 'Send Message' on their Profile, to ask them for more information, or to outline details of your project.
Ask for more details - You can send a message asking them to provide more details on their specific skills relevant to your project etc.

The garden design and landscaping industry suffers from a 'peak and trough' in demand, low in winter - high in Spring/Summer (as the weather changes and Homeowners want to use their garden!) This can lead to dissapointment, as good contractors may be booked out for several months in advance just as Homeowners want them the most. You can avoid this...
TOP TIP !!! Try to plan ahead and organise your project for the Autumn/Winter. Most construction/planting jobs can still be carried out, planting/lawns will be better established come the Spring - and you can save on costs too! Currently 56% of contractors responding to our unique Member Polls said they offer discoints for commissions in Winter!
|
If you wish, you could 'sell' your garden project - making it easier for tradespeople to find it, and understand what you need. As businesses can search and find you, upload some pictures of your garden and include details of the work required. Businesses finding your project can then offer their services. You could even add a listing in our Marketplace to sell your project, and file it under 'Contractor Required'.
