Don't let's get all technical!! - the one think I can't abide is a horticultural snob!! - does it really matter how you pronounce Clematis, Senecio or Eleagnus - but some dreadful people get very worked up.
I was self taught in the early days and called those things with berries 'cotton-easters' for years, who cares, as long as you know what they are, how they grow, what soil they need etc. etc.
You are absolutely right about bluebells, real stunners, but creepy little things too! - don't worry about the corm thing!!

Spring I feel is a long way away. Here in Herts its been raining cats and dogs for most of the week, and very cold, anyway good excuse to do the vat returns and follow up outstanding clients, is there any good weather forecasters out there that can offer a ray of light for us landscapers?????

Definitely snowdrops for me they are absolutely beautiful and so cute My second choice would be bluebells, then crocus and daffodils. I love the colour and the smell of bluebells but I believe they run riot if planted in a garden . I always think when bulbs start to come through spring is nearly here and summer isn't far behind.
It's still seems very much like winter here in Scotland with lots of ice and some snow but I have noticed in the gardens round about that the bulbs are beginning to pop up.

Favourite bulb would be those energy saving ones you get from b&q.
Tulips and Alliums are my favourite.
Seriously can't wait till Spring..but in the meantime Im going to make a vegetable garden!!! First time for me, so will keep it simple.

I LOVE bulbs! for me they seem like such good value- you stick a few in the ground and they come up year after year. We have alot of wild crocus and little narcissus which pop up here (Portugal) and I wanted to plant stuff which wouldn't overpower or compete with the native bulbs- so I've intermingled cyclamen and a few clumps of snowdrops. I planted a load of snakes head fritillaries in a damp meadow area but unfortunately I only saw two come up- but they are so beautiful I hope they make it!!

I really like double tulips and the striking 'Queen of the Night' tulips. I find swathes of snowdrops pretty too.
