Paypal and Ebay

Topics: 18   Posts: 117

I have been thinking for sometime about accepting credit cards and Paypal, so far as a business I have given it a wide berth. I came across this article from a lady in the north of England. Has anyone had a similar unsatisfactory experience with Ebay or paypal?
The reason I ask is that last year I sold a few boot beetles on ebay as a private seller but have been thinking of selling some other products on there for Christmas and the winter (bootscrapers and fire baskets). Last year things went okay and there were no problems. It is what happens when problems arise that concerns me, I am concerned by this ladys' experience and the response from ebay and paypal.
Here is the link to the article ebay and paypal problems

Hi Phil, i have little experience with either ebay or paypal and i share your concerns. it has to be said though that countless transactions are made without any problems. indeed, selling by cash or cheque has its problems too!

we may not like these big companies and perhaps there needs to be more competition but for the moment there is little other option.

All the best for making some Christmas money Phil!

ps. no i am sadly not sponsored by any of these companies, i wish i were...

Am not too familiar with ebay, but a former company of mine used paypal.  Very convenient and very secure, not problems there.  Plus they handle conflict resolution quite well, so your customers are more at ease using it.  You can also invoice them and they can pay these invoices via credit cards.
