Hi Suzie- nice to see you- the fruit and veg group has been quiet recently (but perhaps cos its winter!) but maybe we can liven it up a bit! i'm fairly new to growing veg- as i always did the pretty bits and hubby did the vegies but he...
not sure how we stand on here recommending other links, but i just wanted to share this Hugh Fearnley 'Glutney' recipe- a good way to use up those overgrown courgettes!!http://www.rivercottage.net/SeasonalRe cipes~August/122/G...
hi thanks so much guys- i will definately try the pot idea and also investigate a bit more into the fungal attack possibility, and yes Tim, its an old Iseki (not sure it's quite an antique tho'!!)- really good for all the little t...
hi shelley! thanks for the message, glad to hear the house is coming on well, i regularly look through your pictures! i was originally planning on a short visit to portugal around feb march but honestly dont think i'm gonna have any money, havent dont much work recently and yet still the taxman wants his sizeable portion of my 'assets'. its not all bleak tho, I am drawing up a few gardens at the moment so we should be up and running again. wouldnt it be better if our industry was busy in the winter and quite in the summer months, would be so much nicer! still plan to come out and see you some time, would be well interested in getting involved in the harvest. i asked jo anderson about her pens too!!
Hi Shelley Thanks for your comments! Re your question - I use Pantone pens - AKA Tria. They are brilliant for graphic work & don't wrinkle the paper Have fun experimenting!! Best wishes Jo
er.. now?! seriously- end Nov- beg.Dec, but there's always the wine harvest too (think it was October- will have to check the blog to see), but any time you want to come out we will find something to keep you busy!! (but the grape and olive picking is really good fun) We are winging it ourselves with the house as we have some windows but no doors and no heating so realistically we would be freezing if we tried to move in soon! But.. we are putting in a loo and shower so the options are there to camp out in the house- you'd just need some thermals!! But if you might want to come out when its a bit warmer- like I say it's really up to you- we have blowup mattresses and stuff so it makes no difference to us. :-)
Your pictures from Portugal are very seductive . I WISH I WAS THERE!!!! What are the chances of making a living for a dry stone walling chap with bagage?
