A  big thankyou to the garden network as I have just received a super commission as a direct result of this site ! Will post the design when done & then some photo's. The clients want something similar to my contemporary courtyard & used the word 'spectacular' in the brief so I'm excited about putting pen to paper.

I wish this site had been around years ago - it is a fantastic resource & shows what a friendly & generous community of people are involved in the gardening world - it's quite inspiring !

Best wishes Jo

...  Has anyone used gabions as supporting walls ? I had recommended blockwork & rendered walls to my client for a slick look for their steep garden but one partner want s gabions while the other partner has concerns about them looking like a motorway sidings. I know we can make them look better than that with decent aggregate / stone that but if anyone has experience & / or photo's I'd love to hear from them. The garden is long & has a 10 metre height difference from top to bottom so they really need to be effective !
