Blimmin 'orrible lawn

Plan B sucks too!

At least I have a little bit of good news - the lawn to be re-turfed was measured incorrectly - tis now a slightly better (cheaper) 150sqm (approx).  Roundup has now been applied and waiting - waiting........waiting.................still waiting for it to morph into 'deadness'. Does it always take this long or is my lawn the Stubborn Teenager type.............?  I've been digging for England - Mmmmm, strangely satisfying!  Found frog corpses in various states of decomposition - ugh - is this an omen?   The once pretty bridge has been slung on the rubbish tip - can't seem to find a nice replacement for a reasonable price. Now making death-defying leaps across the murky brown sludge where fish once played & flirted.  Breathing new life takes either a team of 10 or a lifetime for 1!  Hello blisters - leaking again, are we? Best stop typing and get back to glaring at the thing called Garden.

Probably not a stubborn teenager type!

Roundup can take up to a week to work, it will eventually turn a lovely shade of brown, but when the sun doesnt shine, (like today in Beds) it will take longer to work than on sunny days! Its all to do with it being a systemic weedkiller, which means it travels around the whole plant and kills it roots'n'all.... this take more time than a 'contact' weedkiller which only kills the parts that the spray touches. So.......when the sun isn't out the rate of the Roundup travelling through the plant slows down therefore the longer the time to turn brown and die.

so dont give up!!! We fought them on the beaches....
