Food colouring - seeking other's opinion
8:46 PM on 11 October 2008

I have uploaded a photo to album 'pots of colour' entitled food colouring.  Saw these heathers today and was disappointed to think that nature's palette did not provide enough colour without resorting to artificial colour and came home. However half an hour later saw me back in the store armed with basket. Picked up one of every colour  plus two stainless steel balls (got them for half price because they  were starting to rust!!!) and headed for home once again. Such was my disdain for said heathers they were literaly plonked in an earthenware container, the conifer in the background had been thrown out by a client and had been sheuched in in the middle of the once was vegetable plot- is coming away nicely. Rust on polished steel balls removed with brillo pad (not a bad buy) and placed either side of the heathers, stuck a couple of pots of stippa tenuissima behind and still can't make up my mind whether it is a step too far!  Any comments would be much appreciated.alt

The green is too dull and it's boring after a while but interested to see what a dose of our wet Scottish weather does and what transpires if anything once new growth appears.

Mmm. Interesting mix of colours - not sure it does anything for me! The green in particular seems rather strange. The other plants and the balls are the start of something perhaps?
