Pickard School of Garden Design have schools in both London, located within the Museum of Garden History and Bristol, located within the Create Centre.

Pickard School of Garden Design are one of the longest established, most professional, creative and forward thinking garden design schools in the UK. Recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society and the Society of Garden Designers, they are also registered as a training and learning provider with the Learning and Skills Council.

Their focus is on students who wish to design gardens and landscapes at a professional level. Their courses provide a sound knowledge of garden design theory and practice, including project management, construction, planting design, and the skills needed to run and promote a profitable garden design business.
They also offer a continuous professional development programme (CPD) for practising garden designers.

PDiploma in Garden Design (Dip.PSGD)
Comprehensive and demanding, our diploma course is for those who wish to design gardens professionally.
Pickard School have been teaching the Garden Design Diploma since 1991. In recent years, their graduates have won Silver Flora (2001), Silver Gilt (2003), Silver (2004), Bronze Flora (2006), Silver Gilt (2007) and Bronze (2008) medals at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, in addition to awards at many other shows including RHS Hampton Court (Bronze, 2003), RDS Spring Homes and Gardens Show in Ireland (Best Show Garden, 2003) and RHS Malvern (Silver, 2008, and winner of the Chris Beardshaw Mentoring Scholarship).

Computer Aided Design Course (CAD)
CAD is taught using industry-standard software VectorWorks. VectorWorks is taught at 4 levels and each level is taught over 2 days at both their London and Bristol centres.
Developed initially in 1985, VectorWorks is one of the world's best selling CAD products - available in over 85 countries and translated in 14 languages.
Many of Pickard's diploma students return for CAD training when their businesses have expanded; typically within the first year of their practice as professional garden designers.

Continuous Professional Development Programme (CPD)
All professions require their members to undertake continuous professional development (CPD) to ensure that their skills are up to date. Pickard School offer a range of short courses for both newly qualified students and existing practitioners.
Pickard School believe CPD is of vital importance, encouraging excellence within the profession and enabling individual designers to increase their professional standing, ability, performance and knowledge, and helping them to develop their businesses as a result.
